Job Summary:
The Assistant Professor in General Surgery will be responsible for delivering high-quality education and training to medical students, engaging in academic research, and providing clinical care in the affiliated hospital. The role involves both teaching and clinical duties, aiming to contribute to the academic and professional growth of students.

Key Responsibilities:


Teaching:
Conduct lectures, seminars, and practical sessions for undergraduate and postgraduate medical students. Develop and update curriculum and teaching materials to ensure they are current and relevant. Supervise and mentor students in clinical and academic settings. Participate in the assessment and evaluation of students' performance.

Clinical Duties:
Provide surgical care and treatment to patients in the affiliated hospital. Participate in surgical procedures and manage preoperative and postoperative patient care. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care.

Research:
Engage in clinical and academic research within the field of general surgery. Publish research findings in reputable medical journals. Present research at national and international conferences.

Administrative Duties:
Participate in departmental meetings and contribute to curriculum development and academic policies. Assist in organizing workshops, seminars, and other educational activities. Contribute to the accreditation and quality assurance processes of the medical college.

Professional Development:
Stay updated with the latest advancements in general surgery and medical education. Participate in professional development programs and continuing medical education (CME) activities.

Qualifications and Requirements:
MBBS degree from a recognized institution. MS in General Surgery or equivalent qualification. At least 1-5 years of teaching experience in a reputed medical college. Valid medical registration with the relevant medical council. Demonstrated ability to conduct research and publish in peer-reviewed journals. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills. Commitment to academic excellence and integrity.
