Position Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Assistant Professor in General Surgery to join our esteemed medical college in Palakkad, Kerala. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching, research, and clinical duties in the Department of General Surgery. This role is ideal for a dynamic professional committed to academic excellence and advancing the field of surgery through education and research.

Key Responsibilities:


Teaching and Education:
Deliver high-quality lectures, tutorials, and practical sessions to undergraduate and postgraduate medical students. Develop and update the curriculum, course materials, and teaching methodologies to ensure the best educational outcomes. Mentor and guide students in their academic and research activities.

Clinical Duties:
Provide surgical care to patients in the associated teaching hospital. Participate in outpatient clinics, inpatient rounds, and surgical procedures. Supervise and train residents, interns, and other healthcare professionals in the surgical department.

Research and Publications:
Conduct original research in the field of General Surgery and publish findings in reputable journals. Seek and apply for research grants and funding opportunities. Present research findings at national and international conferences and seminars.

Administrative Duties:
Participate in departmental meetings, committees, and other administrative activities as required. Contribute to the continuous improvement and accreditation processes of the department and institution.

Professional Development:
Engage in continuous professional development through attending workshops, conferences, and other training programs. Stay updated with the latest advancements and best practices in General Surgery.

Qualifications:
MBBS and MS in General Surgery from a recognized institution. Registration with the Medical Council of India (MCI) or relevant state medical council. A minimum of 1 to 5 years of post-M.S. teaching experience in a reputed medical college. Proven track record of research and publications in peer-reviewed journals. Excellent communication, teaching, and organizational skills. Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary environment.

Preferred Attributes:
Fellowship or additional training in specialized areas of General Surgery. Experience in curriculum development and academic administration. Demonstrated commitment to professional and ethical standards in medical education and practice.
